Qualifications
- Must be a woman-owned, for-profit business (at least 51% owned by a woman or women).
- Business must be registered in Prince Edward Island.
- Must have been in continuous operation for at least one year.
Preference may be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to:
- Indigenous women
- Women of color
- Rural women business owners
- Women in trades and STEM disciplines
- Newcomers
- Women with disabilities
Disqualifications:
- Businesses not owned by women (less than 51% ownership by a woman or women).
- Businesses not registered in Prince Edward Island.
- Businesses that have not been in continuous operation for at least one year.

This program is designed to help your business grow. Over 12 weeks, you will receive free access to business support services tailored to your needs. This includes weekly group meetings, one-on-one mentorship, peer support, and expert advice from industry leaders.
You will be matched with a mentor in your field for personalized support. The program is delivered both in-person and online, making it flexible for your schedule. There is no cost to participate if you are selected for the cohort.
The program offers a dedicated workspace at the Rural Women’s Business Centre, access to high-speed internet, private offices, and networking opportunities. This is a great chance to connect with other women entrepreneurs and gain valuable insights to take your business to the next level.
Program Steps
Gather Required Documentation:
- Business registration details
- Proof of ownership (at least 51% owned by a woman or women)
- Financial statements for the past year
- Business plan outlining growth objectives
- Any additional documents that demonstrate your business's early growth phase
Complete the Application Form:
- Fill out the application form with accurate and detailed information about your business.
- Ensure all sections are completed to avoid delays in processing.
Prepare a Statement of Purpose:
- Write a clear statement explaining why you want to join the program.
- Highlight your business goals and how the program will help you achieve them.
Submit the Application:
- Send the completed application form and required documentation to the designated contact point (e.g., PEIBWA Charlottetown office or Rural Women's Business Centre).
Attend an Interview Session:
- Participate in a one-hour interview session as part of the selection process.
- Be prepared to discuss your business, goals, and how you plan to utilize the program's resources.
Review and Sign Participation Agreement:
- If selected, review the program's participation agreement.
- Sign and return the agreement to confirm your commitment to the program.
Prepare for Orientation:
- Attend the two-hour orientation session to understand the program structure, schedule, and expectations.
- Familiarize yourself with the resources and support available through the program.
Engage in Weekly Activities:
- Participate in the weekly two-hour group learning sessions.
- Attend bi-weekly one-on-one mentorship meetings.
- Utilize the dedicated workspace at the Rural Women’s Business Centre as needed.
Set and Follow Up on Goals:
- Set weekly goals and follow up with preparatory resources provided by the program.
