Qualifications

  • Must be a Mi’kmaq First Nations or other Indigenous group, agricultural producer, small to medium-sized agri-business, agriculture industry organization, club, or association, public, private or academic research body, or municipal or provincial government.
  • Business must be operating in Prince Edward Island.
  • Must provide a project proposal (1-2 pages) including cover page, executive summary, project objectives, timeline, results, sustainable CAP outcome, climate change/carbon sequestration, budget, evaluation, and communication of support (if applicable).
  • Must provide business or organization information, including CRA registration number.
  • Must provide project start and end date.
  • Must provide additional sources of project funding.
  • Must specify recipient type (i.e., primary producer, agricultural landowner, processor).
  • Must specify type of industry (i.e., dairy, potato, beef, hog, grains, and oilseeds).
  • Must provide a signature for declaration and consent to personal information.
  • Must provide applicant contact information.

  1. Complete the Application Form: Fill out the application form with your contact information, business details, and project specifics. Include your CRA registration number and partnership information if applicable.

  2. Prepare Required Documentation: Gather the following documents:

    • Project proposal (1-2 pages) with sections such as cover page, executive summary, objectives, timeline, results, sustainable CAP outcome, climate change/carbon sequestration, budget, evaluation, and communication of support (if applicable).
    • Business or organization information.
    • Project start and end dates.
    • Additional sources of project funding.
    • Recipient type (e.g., primary producer, agricultural landowner, processor).
    • Type of industry (e.g., dairy, potato, beef, hog, grains and oilseeds).
    • Signature for declaration and consent to personal information.
    • Demographic information (optional).
  3. Review Program Guidelines: Ensure you understand the program guidelines and criteria for both sub-programs: Applied Research Sub-Program and Agriculture Technology Advancement Sub-Program. This will help you align your project proposal with the program's objectives.
