Qualifications

  • Must be involved in the aviation/aerospace industry, either directly as an aviation/aerospace organization or indirectly as a supplier of goods and services for the aviation/aerospace industry.
  • Must complete and sign the Employer Form.
  • Must provide a company description, including the business number and webpage.
  • Must provide proof of the student’s enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary education institution.
  • Must provide the student’s job description.
  • Must provide a working/learning plan for the student.
  • Must provide a signed copy of the student’s employment contract, including start and end dates, full details of wages, and employment benefits, if applicable.
  • Must confirm that the wages for the placement are not funded by another federal program (provincial, municipal, or other funds are acceptable).
  • Must obtain approval from CCAA prior to the student's employment start date.
  • Must demonstrate a net increase in the number of student work placements compared to the previous year.

  • Disqualifications:

    • Wages for the placement funded by another federal program.
    • International students (persons using a Student VISA or Work Permit) are not eligible for SWPP funding.

Program Steps

  2. Prepare Required Documentation:

    • Gather and prepare the following documents:
      • Company description, including business number and webpage.
      • Proof of the student’s enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary education institution.
      • Student’s job description.
      • Working/learning plan for the student.
      • Signed copy of the student’s employment contract, including start and end dates, wage details, and employment benefits.
      • Confirmation that the wages for the placement are not funded by another federal program.
  3. Submit Documentation:

    • Submit the prepared documents to support your application.
  4. Confirm Student Placement:

    • Ensure you have confirmed the placement with eligible student(s) before applying.
    • If you are searching for students, join the online CCAA Job Matching service or partner with local PSE institutions.
  5. Await Eligibility Assessment:

    • CCAA will assess your eligibility criteria within 48 hours and contact you.
  6. Sign Contract and Agree to Payment Schedule:

    • Upon approval, sign a contract with CCAA and agree to a payment schedule.
  7. Ensure Student Completes Their Form:

    • Make sure the student completes their online Student Information Form. The names and email addresses on both forms must match.
  8. Receive Approval Before Employment Start Date:

    • Obtain approval from CCAA prior to the student's employment start date.
