Qualifications

  • Must be of Métis ancestry.
  • Business must be based in Saskatchewan.
  • Business must demonstrate viability.

  • Disqualifications:

    • Political bodies for political process.
    • Cultural activities.
    • Social programs.
    • Residential real estate.
    • Commercial real estate for the sole purpose of lease or rent to others (unless the applicant’s business occupies the majority of space and is commercially viable exclusive of the rental/lease income).
    • Contributions towards assets perceived to be for personal use (e.g., car or pickup-truck).
    • Bars (alcohol providers).
    • Sexually exploitive businesses.
    • Pawnshops.
    • Payday loans.
    • Tobacco retailers or manufacturers.
    • Cannabis businesses.
    • Gambling businesses (some exceptions may apply to VLTs).
    • Basic farming and ranching.
    • Payment of dividends.
    • Refinancing (some exceptions apply).
    • Restaurants in large urban centres (some exceptions apply).

Program Steps

  1. Gather Required Documentation: Prepare the following documents to support your application:

    • Business Plan
    • Financial Statements (past 2 years)
    • Personal Net Worth Statement
    • Proof of Métis Ancestry
    • Business Registration Documents
    • Quotes or Estimates for Project Costs
  2. Contact a Business Advisor: Reach out to a CCDF business advisor for guidance and support. They can help you understand the program details and ensure your application is complete.

  3. Complete the Application Form: Fill out the application form available on the CCDF website. Ensure all sections are completed accurately.

  4. Submit the Application: Submit your completed application form along with the required documentation to CCDF. This can be done online or by mail.

  5. Review and Follow-Up: After submission, CCDF will review your application. Be prepared to provide additional information or clarification if requested.

  6. Approval and Agreement: If approved, review the terms and conditions of the funding agreement. Sign and return the agreement to CCDF.
