Qualifications
- Must be a Canadian college.
- Must be eligible to administer grants according to the eligibility requirements of NSERC, CIHR, or SSHRC.
- Must offer programs in the humanities and social sciences, natural sciences and engineering, and/or health sciences.
- Faculty members involved must be engaged in applied research in the humanities and social sciences, natural sciences and engineering, and/or health sciences.
- Must provide space, facilities, and services to support faculty members in conducting applied research.
- The applicant must hold a remunerated position at the eligible Canadian college.
- The research proposal must identify a principal investigator responsible for the intellectual direction of the research.
- The principal investigator must be affiliated with the administering institution (the college) and qualified to undertake the research independently.
A maximum of five applications can be submitted per college to each competition, with a different principal investigator leading each proposal.
Disqualifications:
- Colleges not declared eligible to administer grants by NSERC, CIHR, or SSHRC.
- Colleges that do not offer programs in the required research areas.
- Faculty members not engaged in applied research in the specified fields.
- Lack of adequate space, facilities, or services to support research activities.
- Proposals without a qualified principal investigator affiliated with the college.

Prepare Required Documentation: Gather the necessary documents to support your application. These typically include:
- A detailed research proposal

- Letters of support from community partners
- CVs of the principal investigator and key team members
- Institutional eligibility confirmation
- Any other documents specified in the application guidelines
Complete the Application Form: Fill out the application form available on the Convergence Portal. Make sure to provide all required information accurately.
Attach Supporting Documents: Upload the prepared documentation to your application on the Convergence Portal. Ensure all files are correctly formatted and labeled.
