  • Must submit an application electronically through the OSCIA Portal.
  • Must include quotes or proposals for all proposed activities to support costs.

    • Lack of a valid certificate of registration under the Bees Act.
    • No proof of recent pest management course or relevant beekeeping diploma/degree.

Program Steps

  1. Read the Program Guide: Carefully read the Honey Bee Health Initiative Program Guide. It contains information on eligible activities, costs, available cost-share, and required documentation.

  2. Create an Account on the OSCIA Portal: Visit the OSCIA Portal to create an account. Complete the Enrolment Form to access the application process.

  3. Prepare Required Documentation: Gather the following documents:

    • Application Form
    • Valid certificate of registration issued under the Bees Act for the current beekeeping season
    • Proof of completing a pest management course related to honeybees specific to Ontario within the last two years, or a diploma/degree in beekeeping within the last five years from a recognized institution
    • Quotes or proposals for all proposed activities to support costs
  4. Complete the Application Form: Fill out the application form with accurate and detailed information about your beekeeping operation and proposed activities.

  5. Submit the Application: Submit your completed application form and all required documentation electronically through the OSCIA Portal.

  6. Await Confirmation: After submission, await confirmation from the program administrators. They may contact you for additional information or clarification.
