Description
This program offers your business a great opportunity to hire students during the summer. You can receive up to 100% of the provincial minimum wage plus 4% vacation pay for non-profit and public sector positions, and up to 50% for private sector positions. This means you can bring in fresh talent without bearing the full cost of their wages.
The funding can be used to employ students for 8 to 18 weeks during the summer. This can help you complete projects, bring in new ideas, and offer students valuable work experience. Priority is given to positions that provide experiential learning related to the student’s field of study, which can be a great way to contribute to their education while benefiting your business.
You will need to cover other employment costs like EI, CPP, and Workers Compensation premiums. However, the wage subsidy makes it easier to manage these expenses. By participating, you not only get financial support but also help in fostering the next generation of professionals.
