Qualifications

  • Must be a Mi’kmaq First Nation, other Indigenous group, agriculture industry organization, club, association, municipal or provincial government, or other approved entity.
  • Business must be operating in Prince Edward Island.
  • Must be involved in livestock production, community pastures, abattoirs, poultry processing, or beekeeping.
  • Must provide applicant contact information and business or organization information, including CRA registration number.
  • Must specify project start and end date.
  • Must identify additional sources of project funding.
  • Must declare recipient type (e.g., primary producer, agricultural landowner, processor).
  • Must specify type of industry (e.g., dairy, potato, beef, hog, grains and oilseeds).
  • Must provide a signature for declaration and consent to personal information.

  • Disqualifications:

    • Businesses not operating in Prince Edward Island.
    • Entities not approved by the Prince Edward Island Livestock Strategy Program Review Committee.
    • Businesses not involved in livestock production, community pastures, abattoirs, poultry processing, or beekeeping.

  3. Complete General Application Form: Fill out the PEI Livestock Strategy Program General Application Form. Make sure all sections are completed accurately.

  4. Complete Relevant Appendices: Depending on the sub-program(s) you are applying for, complete Appendix A and/or B. These appendices are part of the General Application Form.

  5. Review Program Guidelines: Carefully review the PEI Livestock Strategy Program Guidelines to ensure your application aligns with the program’s objectives and requirements.

  6. Submit Application: Send your completed application form and any required appendices to the PEI Department of Agriculture. You can submit it via mail or email to the provided contact details.

  7. Follow Up: After submission, follow up with the PEI Department of Agriculture to confirm receipt of your application and inquire about the review process.
