Qualifications

  • Must be a registered, Canadian business or not-for-profit.
  • Must be willing to provide a quality work-integrated learning experience to a post-secondary student.
  • Must be committed to paying the student for the role and have the financial capacity to pay the student for the duration of the placement in full.
  • Must comply with all federal and provincial human rights and labour legislation, regulations, and any other relevant standards including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Employment Standards Act.
  • Where legally required, must be responsible for Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) or alternate workplace insurance coverage.

  • Disqualifications:

    • Federal, Provincial, Territorial, and Municipal Government entities.
    • Hospitals and public long-term care facilities.
    • Crown Corporations.
    • Post-Secondary Institutions (PSIs).
    • Financial institutions.
    • Non-secular institutions (with some exceptions for secular WIL opportunities).

Program Steps

  2. Post Your Job Listing: Use the Outcome Campus Connect tool to post your job listing. Ensure the job description is clear and detailed to attract suitable candidates.

  3. Recruit a Student: Utilize the platform to find and hire a student for the Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) placement. You can target students based on region, school, and program of study.

  4. Prepare Documentation: Gather the necessary documents for the application. You will need:

    • Proof of business registration in Canada
    • Job description and offer letter for the student
    • Student's proof of enrollment in a recognized post-secondary institution
    • Financial statements showing the capacity to pay the student for the duration of the placement
  5. Complete the Application Form: Fill out the application form on the Outcome Campus Connect Platform. Ensure all information is accurate and complete.

  6. Submit Supporting Documents: Upload the prepared documentation to the platform as part of your application.

  7. Review and Submit Application: Double-check all details and submit your application. Ensure you keep a copy of the submission for your records.

  8. Await Approval: The application will be reviewed, and you will be notified of the outcome. If approved, you will receive instructions on the next steps.

  9. Administer Wage Subsidy: Once the placement is complete and all supporting documentation is submitted, the wage subsidy will be administered. Ensure you follow all guidelines for documentation and reporting.
