Qualifications
- Must currently be a resident of Prince Edward Island.
- The primary artist and/or the majority of the group must have a permanent address in PEI.
Must have been a resident of PEI for at least six months prior to the application.
Disqualifications:
- Artists who have already received funding under the Emerging Music, Export Development, or Career Investment Programs.
- Artists who have successfully applied for or received Microgrant Program funding twice.

Program Steps
Gather Required Documentation: Collect the necessary documents to support your application. These include:
- A brief cover letter (1-2 paragraphs) introducing yourself, describing your sound, vision, and musical accomplishments, and identifying a strategic link between your project and the program’s objectives.
- A project summary, clearly stating its goals and proposed timeline.
- A simple budget listing anticipated expenses and revenues.
- Creative content such as homemade audio or video, lyric sheets, and designs.
Book a Consultation: Schedule a consultation with a Program Officer at Music PEI. This step is recommended to ensure your application aligns with the program's objectives and to receive guidance on the application process.
Complete the Application Form: Fill out the application form with your contact information and the gathered documentation. Ensure all sections are completed accurately and thoroughly.
Submit the Application: Submit your completed application form and all supporting documents to Music PEI. Make sure to follow any specific submission instructions provided by the program.
Sign the Letter of Acceptance: If your application is successful, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance/Investment Agreement. Sign and return this document within thirty (30) days of receiving it.
Receive Funding: Upon submitting the signed Letter of Acceptance/Investment Agreement, you will receive 100% of the eligible expenses for the approved budget within thirty (30) days.
Notify of Project Changes: If there are any significant changes to your project, notify the Program Officer in advance to request approval for reallocation of funds.
Submit Completion Report: Within sixty (60) days of project completion, submit a Completion Report to Music PEI. This report should include a summary (1 page) of the project and copies of expense receipts. If you need more time, inform the Program Officer before the deadline to request an extension.
