Qualifications

  • Must be a resident of Nunavut.
  • Must have at least one producer-related credit on a film, television, or digital media project with a running time of not less than 30 minutes.
  • Must have at least one film, television, or digital media project in development, production, or distribution.
  • Must be in good standing with Nunavut Film.
  • Must be in good standing with the relevant Corporate Registry.
  • Must be incorporated.

Description

This program offers up to $5,000 to help cover costs for attending international markets, co-production conferences, or forums. This financial assistance is also available if your project is nominated for an award or selected for screening at a major festival.

Eligible expenses include:

  • Registration fees
  • Economy rate return airfare (including insurance)
  • Accommodations for up to five nights
  • Ground transportation
  • Per diem for up to six days, including travel
  • Promotion and packaging materials

You can receive an advance of 75% of the approved contribution. After attending the event, you will need to submit a final report within 45 days, detailing the benefits and outcomes, along with an expense report and receipts. This program is a fantastic opportunity to expand your network, gain exposure, and promote your projects on an international stage.

Program Steps

  1. Complete the Application Form:

    • Fill out the application form with your business details, including your name, company, email, phone number, mailing address, and website (if applicable).
  2. Provide Project Details:

    • List the names of the projects you are promoting.
    • Describe the types of productions.
    • Provide a brief synopsis of each project.
    • Detail the development history and status.
    • List key creative personnel attached.
    • Identify the target audience for each project.
  3. Specify Market Event Information:

    • Name the event you plan to attend.
    • Provide the location and dates of travel.
    • Indicate if you have attended this event before and, if so, when.
  4. Estimate Eligible Costs:

    • Calculate the registration fee.
    • Estimate the economy rate airfare.
    • Estimate accommodation costs for up to five nights.
    • Calculate the per diem as per Nunavut Film's per diem chart.
    • Estimate ground transportation costs.
    • Estimate costs for promotion and packaging materials.
  5. Propose Sources of Financing:

    • Specify the amount requested from Nunavut Film.
    • Indicate any additional funding from the applicant or other sources.
    • Ensure that total financing equals the total estimated eligible costs.
  6. Prepare the Appropriate Documentation:

    • Written proposal outlining reasons for attending the event, including goals, benefits, scheduled meetings, workshops, and networking opportunities.
    • Detailed resume of the applicant, including production credits and running time of each project.
    • Written invitation from event organizers confirming selection to attend (if applicable).
  7. Upload Required Documents:

    • Upload the written proposal.

  8. Submit the Application:
