Program Steps

  1. Request an Appointment:

    • Schedule an appointment with a service provider online or contact Employment Ontario.
  2. Develop a Plan:

    • Work with your employment service provider to create a plan that outlines your skills, career interests, and the services needed to reach your goals.
  3. Identify Opportunities:

    • Your employment service provider will identify suitable Ontario Job Creation Partnerships opportunities available in your community.
  4. Prepare Documentation:

    • Gather the necessary documents to complete your application. These may include:
      • Proof of Ontario residency
      • Proof of unemployment status
      • Legal authorization to work in Canada
      • Employment Insurance (EI) claim details or proof of EI benefit period ending within the past 5 years
      • Proof of employee premiums paid in at least three of the previous 10 years (with earnings of at least $2,000 each year)
      • Proof of receiving the Employment Insurance Emergency Response Benefit within the previous 60 months
  5. Complete the Application Form:

    • If opportunities are available, your employment service provider will supply an application form. Complete this form with accurate and detailed information.
  6. Submit the Application:

    • Submit your completed application form along with the required documentation to your employment service provider.
  7. Await Confirmation:

    • Wait for confirmation from your employment service provider regarding the status of your application and any next steps.
  8. Receive Payment:

    • If your application is approved, you will be paid through either Employment Insurance (EI) benefits or financial assistance from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.
