Qualifications

  • Must be a consortium of companies (minimum 2), including at least one Québec SME.
  • Must collaborate with a research center.
  • Minimum group contribution of 25% of eligible expenses.
  • A minimum of 20% of eligible project expenses must come from a service offer from a public research center and/or the hiring of an intern linked to such a center.
  • For each eligible partner company, the project must provide for the hiring of a minimum of one intern per year.
  • PRIMA contribution: max. 50% of eligible expenses, max. $350,000 per company and max $1,500,000 per project.
  • Maximum project duration: 24 months (2 years).
  • Maximum of 75% of public money in the project.

  • Disqualifications:

    • Projects not related to the themes of the artificial intelligence call and advanced materials.

Program Steps

  1. Contact an Advisor: Reach out to an advisor before March 15, 2024, to get the application form and discuss your project.

  2. Prepare Documentation: Gather the necessary documents, including:

    • Detailed project proposal
    • Financial statements
    • Business plan
    • Collaboration agreements with other SMEs or research centers
    • Proof of Québec SME status
    • Intern hiring plan
  3. Form a Consortium: Ensure your consortium includes at least two companies, with at least one being a Québec SME, and a collaboration with a research center.

  4. Develop a Budget: Create a detailed budget that includes:

    • Total project cost
    • Eligible expenses
    • Group contribution (minimum 25% of eligible expenses)
    • Public research center service offers (minimum 20% of eligible expenses)
    • Intern costs
  5. Submit the Project: Submit your project proposal through the general call by the company coordinating the project.

  6. Meet Deadlines: Ensure the full application is submitted to the RSRI by April 15, 2024, at 4 p.m.

  7. Await Review: The application will be reviewed to ensure it meets all criteria and aligns with the program's objectives.

  8. Approval and Funding: Upon approval, discuss the final terms, including funding amounts and project timelines. Once agreed upon, the funds will be disbursed to start your project.
