Qualifications

  • Must be located in Alberta.
  • Must focus on technologies that reduce emissions and contribute to a flexible and sustainable energy grid.
  • Must be involved in projects related to energy transport, distribution, storage, or optimization.
  • Must demonstrate a clear value proposition for reducing GHG emissions or enabling the transition to a carbon-neutral economy.
  • Must be ready to pilot, demonstrate, or deploy the technology within Alberta.
  • Must request funding between $250,000 and $10 million.
  • Must ensure the ERA contribution does not exceed 50% of the project’s eligible expenses.
  • Must be an innovator, technology developer, Indigenous community, industrial facility owner/operator, industrial association, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME), research and development (R&D) organization, university, municipality, not-for-profit organization, government research lab, or individual.
  • Must be willing to collaborate with Alberta’s post-secondary and research institutions, Indigenous communities, and municipalities where appropriate.
  • Must produce a final outcomes report that is shared publicly.
