Eligible Expenses:

  • Ongoing activities and services that provide targeted resources and opportunities for the development of a particular artistic practice, group of artists, and/or arts organizations.

  • Activities that receive funding from another Canada Council program.
  • General list of ineligible activities as specified by the program guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Must be a support organization, shared platform, artist-run centre, magazine on the arts and literature, or agency and management service organization.
  • Must presently receive core support from the Support Organizations component, or have received 1 composite grant or 3 Canada Council project grants (excluding certain components and programs) in the last 5 years.
  • Must be a registered or incorporated arts organization.
  • Must work with a professional staff.
  • Must have at least 5 years of continuous activities and services that support professional arts practice.
  • Must have had total revenues exceeding $50,000 in each of the last 3 years (some exceptions may be considered).

  • Disqualifications:

    • Organizations receiving core support from another Canada Council component without confirmation of eligibility from a Program Officer.
    • Activities that receive funding from another Canada Council program.
    • Organizations that do not meet the revenue requirement (unless exceptions are considered).

  3. Prepare Documentation: Gather the following documents:

    • Financial statements for the last three years
    • Proof of registration or incorporation
    • Details of your professional staff
    • Records of continuous activities and services supporting professional arts practice for the last five years
    • Documentation showing total revenues exceeding $50,000 in each of the last three years
  4. Complete the Application Form: Access the guidelines and application form from the portal. Fill out the form with accurate and detailed information about your organization and the activities you are applying for.

  5. Submit the Application: Once your profile is validated and your documentation is prepared, submit your completed application form through the portal.

  6. Await Notification: After submission, consult the Deadlines and Notification of Results page to understand when you will be notified about the outcome of your application.
