  • Must submit a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) application.
  • Must comply with employer obligations under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
  • Must have a Job Bank account to use the LMIA Online portal.
  • Must be hiring for positions in one of the following categories:

    • High and low-wage positions based on provincial/territorial median wage.
    • Primary agriculture positions.
    • Skilled positions to support permanent residency.
    • Uniquely skilled talent or in-demand workers through the Global Talent Stream.
    • Caregiver positions for children, seniors, or persons with medical needs.
    • Academic positions at degree-granting post-secondary institutions.
    • Positions in Quebec via regular or facilitated processes.
    • Recognized Employer Pilot for a simplified application process.
  • Disqualifications:

    • Employers found to be non-compliant during an inspection.
    • Applications refused to process due to specific reasons under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.

  2. Log in to LMIA Online Portal: Use your Job Bank account credentials to log in to the LMIA Online portal.

  3. Complete the Application Form: Fill out the required details in the LMIA application form. Ensure all information is accurate and complete.

  4. Prepare Documentation: Gather the following documents needed for the application:

    • Business registration documents
    • Proof of business legitimacy (e.g., tax returns, financial statements)
    • Job offer letter
    • Proof of recruitment efforts (e.g., job advertisements, interview records)
    • Proof of compliance with provincial/territorial employment standards
