  • Must submit required reports and claims on time:

    • Status report by September 30th of the current year.
    • Final submission form by January 31st of the current year.
    • Expense claims can be submitted at any time.

    • Failure to submit the application by the deadline.

Program Steps

  1. Read the Program Guide: Review the guidebook for the type of exploration you are doing. There are separate guidebooks for Hardrock and Placer exploration.

  2. Prepare Documentation: Gather the necessary documents for your application. You will need:

    • Completed application form
    • Project proposal
    • Budget estimate
    • Any previous exploration reports (if applicable)
  3. Fill Out the Application Form: Complete the application form with accurate and detailed information about your project.

  4. Submit Your Application: Email your completed application form and supporting documents to the Yukon Geological Survey at [email protected] by April 2nd, 2024.

  5. Contact the Yukon Geological Survey: It is encouraged to discuss your application or plans with the Yukon Geological Survey before the deadline. You can reach them by phone at 867-667-3203 or email [email protected].

  6. Application Review: The geologists will review your application and assign a score based on the evaluation criteria found in Appendix A of the relevant guidebook.

  7. Receive Notification: You will receive an email by May 15 with the results of your application. If successful, follow the conditions for receiving funding as outlined in the guidebook.

  8. Submit Required Reports: If you receive funding, you must submit:

    • Status report by September 30
    • Expense claim reports as needed
    • Final submission form by January 31
    • Final report via the Yukon Geological Survey’s secure FTP site
